Along with their academic achievements, graduates of the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) continue to make our university proud with their fascinating international careers. EMU Faculty of Engineering, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering graduate Dr. Cüneyd Fırat is a Senior Executive at the CTech Information Technology which operates in the field of defense and information technologies. With his achievements throughout his career, Dr. Fırat once again proves the success of EMU alumni on global level.

CTech, which works on communication and avionics technologies in the Defense and Security, Aerospace, and Telecommunications sectors, partnered with Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) in 2018. Under Dr. Fırat's leadership, the company has continued to grow rapidly.

“Over 300,000 Hours of Field Experience”

In an interview where Dr. Fırat reviewed CTech’s achievements in 2024 and outlined their goals for 2025, he mentioned that the company is focused on innovative projects in the defense and communication technology sectors. He attributed the company’s success to 20 years of effort, which has translated into products and repeat sales. Dr. Fırat particularly pointed out the mobile satellite communication terminals, which have been in development since 2013, and their successful use in the ANKA and Aksungur UAVs. These terminals have surpassed 300,000 hours of field experience. Under Dr. Fırat’s leadership, CTech also collaborates with international organizations such as NATO.

In his statement regarding EMU, Dr. Fırat stated that the education he had received at EMU equipped him with analytical thinking skills and a solid engineering foundation. He highlighted that the training at EMU was key to his significant achievements in the industry. Dr. Fırat added, “EMU provided me with more than just technical knowledge; it broadened my perspective. The approach to education at EMU helped me grow not only as an engineer but also as a leader who can shape the future of the industry”.
