Organized by the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Faculty of Business and Economics, a panel titled “The Future of Electricity in the TRNC" will be held on Wednesday, 30 March 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at EMU Mustafa Afşin Ersoy Hall with the participation of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Finance Minister Sunat Atun as the keynote speaker,
During the panel to be moderated by EMU Business and Economics Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Mustafa Besim, Chair of the Chamber of Electrical Engineers, Energy Commission Görkem Çelik will deliver a presentation titled “Vision of Innovation in Energy" and EMU Business and Economics Faculty, Banking and Finance Department academic staff member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hasan Ulaş Altıok will also make a presentation titled "Cost-Efficiency Analysis of Electricity Production in TRNC". Then, EMU Energy Research Center President Prof. Dr. Uğur Atikol will talk about “The Importance of Demand Management in Sustainable Energy" and EMU Engineering Faculty Vice Dean Assist. Prof. Dr. Davut Solyalı will deliver a presentation on “Energy Cooperatives for Domestic and Renewable Resources". Finally, METU-TRNC Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department Chair Prof. Dr. Murat Fahrioğlu will present information on "The Future of Electrical Interconnection in Cyprus" and Cyprus Turkish Electricity Authority Deputy General Manager Kamil Direl will deliver a presentation under the title of "Current Situation of Electricity Production in TRNC".
