In programs that require application, the Senate has decided to conduct face-to-face education for students at the graduation stage in the 2020-2021 Spring Semester.

The Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Senate made decisions regarding the 2020-2021 Academic Year Spring Semester educational method at a meeting held on Tuesday, 23 February 2021.

In scope of the decisions produced regarding EMU’s 2020-2021 Spring Semester and in accordance with the decisions of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Council of Ministers and the Council of Higher Education of the Republic of Turkey, it was decided to implement the courses that require application for students who are in graduation status face to face. In this context, it was decided that faculties and schools, with the approval of the Rector’s Office, will prepare plans for face-to-face applications for students studying in the relevant programs to come to the campus as of 1 April 2021, taking into account the quarantine and vaccination processes. In addition, face-to-face education on campus will be conducted in small groups, with the utmost attention and strict precautions.

On the other hand, for students at the graduation status residing in countries where transportation is not available, faculties and schools will make the necessary planning to provide digitally supported education.

In line with the decisions taken by the EMU Senate, other university-wide courses, including the theoretical parts of the courses that require practice at the graduation stage, will be held online in the 2021 Spring Semester.

If deemed necessary by faculties and schools, with the approval of the Rector’s Office, face-to-face education can be conducted in small groups with maximum attention and strict measures.

It was also stated that the EMU Senate could make new evaluations for the educational method to be applied after the mid-term exams, depending on the emerging conditions regarding the pandemic. In the statement, it was also emphasized that the quarantine and PCR test costs of students coming to the university from abroad will be covered by the government.
