Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Special Education Club organized a talk event titled “Otizm Spektrum Bozukluğu Tanılı Çocuklarda Duyu Bütünleme  / Sensory Integration in Children Diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder” within the scope of the 2 April – World Autism Awareness Day. The event took place on Wednesday, 2 April 2025 at 01:00 p.m. at Faculty of Education, Assist. Prof. Dr. Ali Hikmet Civelek Conference Hall, featuring Specialist Occupational Therapist Polat Koç as guest speaker.

In the said event, Specialist Occupational Therapist Koç provided insights into the significance of sensory functions in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and discussed therapeutic approaches to support sensory integration. Participants not only learned about sensory integration therapy but also explored effective intervention strategies for supporting children on the autism spectrum.

EMU academic personnel members and students showed great interest in the event which significantly contributed to awareness raising towards autism.
