Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics proudly represented EMU at the 14th National Healthy Life Congress hosted by the Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University on 12 – 15 June 2025.

Within the scope of the congress, Assist. Prof. Dr. Gözde Okburan from EMU Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, delivered a presentation titled “Karbonhidratlar ve Uzun Yaşam: Dost mu, Düşman mı? / Carbonhydrates and Longevity: A Friend or An Enemy?”. Furthermore, EMU Department of Nutrition and Dietetics academic staff members Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ceren Gezer and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Seray Kabaran respectively delivered presentations titled “Hormesis Kavramı Çerçevesinde Polifenoller ve Uzun Yaşam / Polyphenols and Longevity Within the Framework of Hormesis” and “Longevity Kapsamında İlk 1000 Gün: Uzun Yaşamın Tohumları Anne Karnında mı Atılıyor / First 1000 Days of Longevity: Are the Seeds of a Long Life Planted in the Womb?”.

In a statement from EMU Faculty of Health Sciences, it was highlighted that the academics’ contributions to the congress are crucial for both the exchange of scientific knowledge and enhancing EMU’s presence in the health sciences sector. The statement also affirmed the intention to continue engaging in similar scientific forums in the future and to carry out research that supports the advancement of public health.
